Your True Love

So you've met this guy, and you felt like you two had a connection because of some of the things you have in common; or simply because he's attractive and he showed interest in you. Months have gone by, maybe even years and you just don't feel fulfilled! This "love" just isn't what other people cracked it up to be. The happiness that you thought was supposed to overwhelm you just isn't in your heart and you're wondering to yourself "Why am I not happy?", "Why am I so confused?" or maybe you're even asking God "I thought you wanted me happy, Lord. Why am I heartbroken?" You begin to fake your happiness because everyone else seems happy in their relationship! Just think, If you're faking your happiness, imagine how many other people are faking theirs! Never compare your life to how someone's life seems on the internet. There's a blog I love on this subject written by Heather Lindsey Here. So not only are you in an unfulfilled relationship, but now you're questioning God about why you're in the situation you're in!

I feel like I should say this now, God will not bless a relationship that He has nothing to do with!

How dare us approach God in a questioning tone about "how he could let us be so unhappy" when we didn't seek Him before we even put ourselves in the relationship! Notice I said put ourselves in the relationship. What God doesn't ordain won't work out. And I'll go even further to say you may not be miserable in your self-obtained relationship. If you read the beginning of this blog and thought "Yes, my relationship has its issues but it's not that bad!" there is a truth for you too! God's plan for your life is perfect. Our plan for our life is not what's best for us because we don't know what's best for us until we know our creator! We base our plan for our life off of the things of this world (money, lust, greed, self-pleasures, etc.) and that is not what God has called us to do, that's not how He wants His people to think! The things that God has for you don't even come close to the things we want for ourselves. One of my favorite scriptures is:

1 Corinthians 2-  However, as it is written:“What no eye has seen what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him—10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.

God so badly wants us to seek Him in all things that we do! Some people may say, okay now you're being too deep, I have the common sense to make some decisions on my own! But we really don't, and seeking the one who orders our steps is so mandatory in this walk with Christ! Young women of God, we have to protect our hearts from ungodly men. That's our first problem! We're looking to invest in someone who has no prayer life, no sense of direction and no has no interest in honoring you and your purity, they just like your pretty face. Wrong! We're going about it all wrong! We are called to wait on God and when a young man comes along who says he serves Christ, allow Christ to show you his heart so that you make the right decision!

"So Erica, are you telling me to break-up with my boyfriend? But I love him, and he loves me!"

Yes! - If you did not fall on your face before God and cry out to Him regarding your love life, if you did not allow God to show you his heart before you committed to him, and if your boyfriend shows no fruit of the spirit and doesn't take our Heavenly Father seriously, then yes! Dump him! I don't care how much he says he loves you, Jesus Christ has shown us what true love is! He gave His life just for you! He bought you with a price, so you belong to Him! It's time that you tell the devil that he can't have you! It's time that you stop letting the devil use a purposeless relationship as a distraction from Christ. It's time you take back your life and give it to Christ wholeheartedly so that you can finally feel the love, peace and understanding that God promised to you!

Don't waste another moment, day, month or year with a man who doesn't care about your soul! Be patient and wait on God, pray about learning to be content with just you and God. Pray against the desire to settle for less than what your Heavenly Father has in store for you. It's a process and it's important to stay prayerful and focused on God because some days will be harder than others, trust me. But God never said this walk would be easy, He tells us that it will be worth it and our reward will be great!

You're so loved,
Erica Xx
